Incumbent representative of House District 44 (2003 to present), which
encompasses part of Douglas County, including Parker and Lone Tree.
Ø
Elected
as the Republican Leader for the Colorado House of Representatives in
March of this year.
Ø
Member
of the General Assembly Legislative Council and the Executive Council
In the past, have also served on several House committees, including
Finance, Local Government, and State, Veterans and Military Affairs.
Ø
Honored as “Legislator
of the Year” by several organizations, including: Southeast Business
Partnership, American Lung Association,
Colorado Tobacco Education and Prevention Alliance and the American
Heart Association.

A 90%
rating from National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) and
have received Civil Justice League’s “Order in the Court” award for the
past three years.
Ø
Served
on the Parker Town Council from 1998 to 2002. Chaired the budget
committee and developed and implemented Parker’s first 5 year budget
plan. Developed plan and led successful campaign for “excise tax” on
new development for purposes of building related infrastructure (roads,
parks, and facilities) to keep up with Parker’s rapid growth. Led the
campaign for change in Town Charter regarding municipal elections that
took Parker’s voter turnout from less than 6% to 80%.

Army 1972-1975 serving as a member of both the Berlin Brigade and the
101st Air Assault at Fort Campbell Kentucky.

Active
member of my community and have received several awards for my
dedication to the Town of Parker, including the 1998 O’Brien Award as
Parker’s Citizen of the Year and the 2002 Cornerstone Award for
promoting and supporting the economic development of Parker.

Member
of the Colorado Society of CPAs, the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants, the Parker Chamber of Commerce, and the Parker
Economic Development Council. Past member of Parker Rotary (until I
started in the Legislature).

Retired
CPA (wife Traci still operates our CPA firm in Parker), for the past
several years build and operate hotels in Colorado and Utah.

Mike and his wife, Traci, reside in Parker, Colorado and have six
children
